Combining functionality with simplicity, the humble roller blind is still loved by many as the most practical solution in the world of window coverings. Favoured particularly in bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens due to the fact they can be rolled up out of the way for ventilation, cleaning or simply to allow maximum light into the room when not needed for shade or privacy. To the delight of many customers, roller blinds can be upgraded with motorisation and operated via a wall switch or remote. Furthermore, you can add in a smart hub to connect your blinds to wifi and take control with mobile devices.
Cassettes –

Over the last few years cassettes have become a popular choice for those wanting to add a bit of finesse to their roller blind. The cassette serves to hide the roll at the top and is available with a fabric valance across the front. Cassettes and brackets are available in white, anthracite and black. Some designs take this one step further and add side channels a rubber seal or brush on the fabrics bottom bar to ensure full coverage for proper blackout.
Flyscreens
If you take the aforementioned blackout blind with full coverage and swap out the blackout fabric for mesh you
Blackout-

Blackout fabrics can aid in keeping unwanted light and heat out in summer and will somewhat insulate in winter. The fabric itself will allow no light to permeate although there will be a “halo” surrounding the blind. If one requires complete darkness we can supply roller blinds inside a cassette with side rails and a seal at the bottom
Light filtering-

Translucent fabrics also known as ‘dim out’ provide privacy and glare reduction while still allowing light through the material. The degree of opacity is dependant on colour and the individual properties of the chosen fabric, darker colours will let less light pass through and some shades particularly reds and oranges can glow when the sun hits them. Most roller blinds are made from polyester which is lightweight and durable. There are a wide range of fabric choices consisting of numerous jacquards, prints, textures and plains spanning the entire rainbow.)
Sheers-

The modern answer to net curtains, sheer fabric provides privacy during the daytime whilst maintaining your outlook and letting maximal light in. Can also be used to bolster privacy from frosted glass in bathrooms and the like.

Screens-

A durable option for reducing heat and glare. Screens are available 1% fabric shown above which is opaque and offers the most solar protection or 3% shown below allowing more light through closer to the properties of a sheer albeit it tougher and easier to maintain.

PVC
These fabrics are highly suited to areas which are needed to be wiped down often such as clinical areas or bathrooms. Inherently blackout, pvc blinds are available in the unika and genius cassette systems from our insect screen supplier offering a robust, blackout option suited to commercial applications, similar to the block and bloc XL products respectively, which are also available with pvc fabric.
